UT Brownsville – Biomedical Research Facility

The University of Texas Brownsville needed a second Biomedical Research Facility on their campus and one of the project stipulations was that the project achieve a LEED Certified Rating.  From the original conceptual design through the final construction documentation, the LEED goal has been tracked.   The project consists of approximately 8,000SF of labs and small office work spaces.  Incorporating local materials to the greatest extent possible, implementing an indoor air quality management plan both during and after construction, and using efficient building equipment have helped this project exceed its original goal. Nearing the end of the final documentation, the project achieved a LEED Certified Rating.

Deb was the LEED Project Administrator for this project.
